About Me

My photo
I take pictures of things. Mostly with film. Mostly with cameras. I am an engineer by trade. What really makes me happy, though, is to find an old camera at a swap meet or antique store and bring it back into working order with a few hours at the workbench. I then like to take them out and shoot some film. This blog is in large part the result of that activity.

spunky and shea

spunky kissing shea - Pentax 6x7, 105mm f2.4, tri-x 400

Spunky is a rat terrier, and is the sweetest, loving-est dog I've ever known.  Monday of this week she just wasn't herself, and Tuesday we took her to the vet.  Apparently she had ruptured a disc in her back.  She was given a steroid shot and some pain meds and we crossed our fingers.  This morning when she woke up she was paralyzed from the rib cage back, and could not move her back legs.  It was a heartbreaking day of doctors and pet hospitals, holding my wonderful little crippled dog who, even with all the pain was licking my face.  We just got word this evening that she came through the surgery on her back okay but we won't know if she can walk until Friday.  I'm not in much of a mood to talk about cameras and photographs tonight, so you'll have to excuse the brevity of my post.   Hopefully I'll be posting some good news a bit later in the week.
